Mazak's Massage Therapy treatments are specifically designed to target (and improve through lengthening) the muscles of speech, swallowing, respiration and TMJ function.
Almost everything we do in a day requires the head to be in a forward position. Our heads flex further and further forward as the days, months and years go by, causing the muscles in the front of our necks to become so tight and shortened that they start to bulge. They can even increase the appearance of a double chin. Our heads become positioned so forward that the back of our neck has to wrestle against gravity, force as well as shortened muscles. These factors are some of the contributors to pain in the back of the neck. When the muscles in the front of the neck are stretched and lengthened, the back of the neck will not have to fight so hard against several forms of resistance.
Patients have experienced:
Increased vocal range
Increased vocal projection
More ease with swallowing
Improved neck posture
Decreased pain
Decreased tension
TMJ alignment
Increased range of motion
Ability to breathe more deeply with less effort
